What to Expect?

How much is your psychological and working tranquility worth to you?

How long have you neglected yourself or expected problems to go away on their own,

with the result that they often increase dramatically?

Do you suffer from anxiety, are you under stress, are there problems with your partner or family,

do you have problems at work?

Do you need help in drafting your CV and cover letter,

or do you have difficulties in dealing with job interviews ?

Do you want to empower yourself, increase your self-esteem and confidence in your possibilities?

There are some situations in life that put a strain on our balance and our serenity.

There could be difficulties related to your everyday life at home, at work or at school,

to the relationship with your children, friends, partner or family,

or more strictly related to your mood,

to sleeping or eating, or to the relationship with your body or your sexuality.

The main function of Psychological Counselling is to guide the person in getting a clear perspective,

in recognizing and defining the causes of the difficulties, the different factors at play,

the options and possibilities available.
The psychologist can help the person in understanding exactly what it's
happening,

activating all the personal resources necessary to face situations,

adopting a tailor-made approach, taking into account your subjectivity and uniqueness.

The first few meetings will allow us to know each other and to set the goals we want to achieve.

For me, it is important that you take your time to understand if you feel comfortable with me and in my office.

One of the main factors that make counseling successful is the "therapeutic alliance",

(i.e. the partnership between the psychologist and the client that allows them to achieve goals

through agreed-upon tasks, based on trust and mutual acceptance).

This is why it is important that we both feel comfortable and motivated so that we can walk through the same path.

Our meetings will be your time to explore what you’re currently struggling with.

Don’t worry about saying the ‘wrong’ things or asking questions – nothing is ‘wrong’.

Everything discussed is an opportunity to explore and understand the world through your eyes.

From the second meeting onwards, the goals set will be:

What are your needs ?

What do you want to achieve ?

What difficulties and problems are you dealing with ? how do you deal with them ?

The goals we set together will always be kept in mind during our journey

to understand if we are moving in the right direction,

what need to be improved or changed,

and if you feel satisfied once we achieved them.

Then, we will decide how to organize our agenda: the number of weekly or monthly meetings, the duration, etc...

Depending on the type of difficulty you want to address and on your availability,

the duration of the treatment and the frequency of the meetings may vary.

These and other details are agreed together during the first meetings or

at another time during the treatment, when and if it will be necessary.

Neuropsychological
Assessment

ADULTS AND ELDERLY

The Neuropsychological assessment provides a "picture" of the cognitive, behavioral and functional profile of an individual,

in collaboration with the referring physician, it is used to obtain a specific diagnosis and

to plan a treatment which provides psychological support and rehabilitation.

The neuropsychologist's task will be to:

  • recognize the presence of any intellectual deficit, cognitive or functional impairment following specific conditions (e.g. Traumatic Brain Injury or Dementias).

  • recognize and differentiate the cognitive decline of normal aging from MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment) or Dementia, and monitor the person through follow-ups over the time.

  • Identify the person's weaknesses and strengths, abilities and residual resources.

  • Evaluate together with the person and his/her family the possibility and modalities of a treatment which includes psychological support and rehabilitation.

Are you a high school or college graduate ?

Following careful consideration, and based on my personal experience,

I thought to offer my assistance to high school or college graduates

in order to help them develop greater personal awareness of how to plan their professional future,

The psychological counseling will help you approach both the world of university or the working world.

Vicious circles such as the tendency to procrastinate, to run away from responsibilities,

self-criticism, feeling not up to it, questioning one's abilities (considering yourself as lazy, weak, not able to...),

and excessive dependence on the judgment of others, can lead to complete frustration and demotivation

which in turn will lead to inevitable suffering.

After some time you will feel better for a brief period,

until the next failure comes, leading to more problems to deal with down the road.

With psychological counseling it is possible to identify your weaknesses, strengths and personal resources that will allow you to achieve the desired change by finding the right solution,

as precisely and adequate to your needs and expectations as possible.

I can help you to make clarity within yourself and take your life back:

  • You will learn to better recognize and manage your emotions.

  • You will discover your resources and your potential.

  • You will develop strategies to effectively cope with your problems and improve your quality of life.

  • You will increase your self-esteem and self-confidence.

  • You will learn how to identify your goals, solutions and strategies to achieve them.

  • You will have the opportunity to explore your problems in a validating, non-judgmental and supportive environment.

The counseling is also for people who experience psychological distress due to relationships or lifestyles difficulties (e.g. failing to lose weight, not feeling able to start going to the gym or not knowing how to deal with stress).

Are you a freshly licensed psychologist or a trainee psychologist ?

You subscribed to dozens of Facebook pages and groups to study for the "final" exam which will finally give you your so much desired license, other students, just like you, are posting questions after questions every 5 seconds, feeding your anxieties and insecurities with their doubts,

you feel overwhelmed by the enormous amount of material to study and you don't know where to start,

you compare yourself to colleagues and friends, which, albeit with good intentions, are passing you poor quality material and summaries. In the meantime, you look forward to the publication of the Professors Commission to know their approach and orientation and to understand on which topic you will have to focus more.

You have no problem in the analysis of clinical cases, but you have never planned an intervention, or viceversa ?

Counseling is also available for young doctors who are preparing the final exam/s

or are about to get their license/qualification to officially become a qualified psychologist.

I can help you with preparation for the final exam/s,

as well as in coping with stress and anxiety

that don't allow you to be as productive as you would like to be.

You were told that you needed a Bachelor's degree to work, and you got it ....

You were told that in order to work a Bachelor's degree was not enough,

a Master's degree is needed, so you worked hard and took it ...

You were told that to work you needed an internship...so you completed it...

They told you that in order to work you had to be qualified, so without even knowing how, what and when,

you managed to pass the final exam/s and finally got qualified...

At that point, they tell you that you must have completed a MSc in Psychotherapy, training programs

and at least 2 years of work experience.

You answer by saying that to have the required experience you have to start working,

so they tell you that to work you need 2 years of experience,

so you find yourself stuck in this endless loop

until the moment that the idea of starting cultivating beets doesn't seem so sad to you after all.
